Michael Allen Giles, 46, born on September 10, 1959, in Monroe, LA, of Garland, TX, was determined to have been killed approximately 4 July 2006. More than a year after he disappeared, it was discovered he had been shot and buried in his back yard by a woman he met in England.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Robin R. Brawhaw and survived by his mother, Jannie Giles Smith; brothers, John H. Giles and Larry S. Giles; sisters, Gwendolyn J. McShan, Cheryl L. Smith-Evans; nephews, Derrick L. Brawhaw, Darrius L. Feggett, and Jamal M. Evans; nieces, Vanessa L. Brawhaw, Ebony L. Brawhaw, and Ariel R. Robinson; great neice, Derricka Brawhaw; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mike was baptized and attended church at Old Macedonia Baptist Church in Gilbert, LA. He attended his younger years of education in Gilbert, LA and later years in Dallas, TX graduating from David W. Carter High School in 1977. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on December 20, 1978.
He was passionate in furthering his education and working towards his Masters Degree. He also enjoyed playing basketball, football, reading, exercising, and spending time with his family and friends. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force with 20 years of active duty service, he was employed at Southwestern Bell.
He was educated in the military receiving the following: Helicopter Mechanic, 1979; NCO Orientation, 1979; NCO Leadership School, 1987; UH-60 Helicopter Maintenance, 1989; Aircraft Pneudraulics, 1985; USAF Senior NCO Academy, 1990; He also furthered his education through the Dallas County Community College District receiving an Associates Degree in the Computer Information Technology field.
